Casting directors Nancy Bishop, CSA and David Stejskal, CSA offer a special Master Classes in their home city of Prague, 10-12 Nov, 2017.
Summary: This three day intensive series of Master Classes is designed for actors who wish to learn strategies to approach marketing and auditioning and to improve on camera acting skills. Each actor will get professional feedback and a copy of their scene work. The class is for instructional purposes only and follows the guidelines set out by the Casting Society of America.*

10:00 – 10:30 Meet at venue for welcome coffee and orientation.
10:30 – 12:00 Archetype Workshop Part I (Introduction Exercise with David)
Actors introduce themselves to the rest of the group. Others identify acting archetypes based on their first impression.
12:00 – 13:00 SCENE WORK (with David)
With a special exercise on creating unique performance.
13:00 – 14:15 Lunch
14:15– 17:00 SCENE WORK (with David)
Practicing cold-reading with special attention on correct “eye technique”.

Reading scenes with special attention on realistic delivery of lines.

14:15 – 16:00 SELF TAPE SESSION (with Nancy)
All actors will have been pre-assigned self-tape auditions which we will view in the class for critique by Nancy.
16:00 – 17:00 Warm up exercises targeted to help actors identify strategies to approach auditions by identifying circumstance and objectives and assignment of scenes for mock auditions(with Nancy).

Students present their materials (headshots, reels etc.) for feedback by David and discuss further development strategy.
12:30 – 13:00 SHOWREEL DEVELOPMENT STRATEGIES
A presentation by David on how to build a powerful showreel.
13:00 – 14:15 LUNCH
14:15 – 17:00 MOCK AUDITIONS (with Nancy)
Each actor will be coached and recorded performing the scene assigned on Saturday. Nancy will provide feedback on playbacks.

About David: David Stejskal is the head caster in Nancy Bishop’s Prague office and a member of the Casting Society of America. He has worked on films ‘Ophelia’ and ‘Unlocked’ and TV series ‘Knightfall’, ‘12 Monkeys’, ‘Transporter’ and ‘Crossing Lines’. David is also an acting coach at Prague Film School, ISFF in Berlin while holding private classes.
Furthermore, as an active horseman David is developing unique method of actors training through working with horses under project called ‘Actinghorse’. David was trained as a film director at Northern Film School. His student film ‘Two Soldiers’ was in the official selection at the Manchester Film Festival 2012. After studies David wrote and directed numerous short projects, including commercial videos for brands like Haagen-Dazs, Arla Denmark and Nestea.

About Prague: Meet and work with actors form all over Europe in beautiful Prague, the Golden City filled with a thousand spires. The master classes will take place at Vivid Studios in Prague overlooking Letna Park. Prague is also of particular interest to actors not only because of its rich theatre history (notably with former President/playwright Vaclav Havel) but because hundreds of international film makers and large scale studios flock to Prague each year to shoot films.

Nancy Bishop CSA, Emmy- Award Nominated Casting Director and author of Auditioning for Film and TV, offers a special two day PILOT SEASON MASTER CLASS and INTERNATIONAL MARKETING SEMINAR for actors who wish to position themselves for international work. Stay on top of your audition technique with practice in taped auditions, self tapes, and cold reading technique. This class will focus particularly on the demands of pilot season, with targeted scene work typical of American pilots.

Casting directors are often expected to cast pilots within shorter time periods so they are increasingly relying on self-tapes. Actors will provide a pre-assigned self taped audition from sample pilots for feedback from Nancy
15:00-16:00: INTERNATIONAL MARKETING SEMINAR
Seminar for actors will focus on strategies for actors to promote themselves and procure work in the international market. Topics will include how to best take advantage of the internet for marketing, organize a professional CV, choose a winning headshot, produce an effective show reel, record auditions to send to production, and use social media.
16:00- 16:30: Actors are assigned two pilot scenes for the next day.
Sunday 29 October 10:00 – 4.30-5 MOCK PILOT AUDITIONS
10:00 – 12:00: Actors will perform and tape scenes assigned on Saturday with coaching from Nancy.
12:00- 13:00: Critique of taped scenes
13:00- 14:00 Lunch
13:00- 16:30 (Might go later) : Second Round of pilot scene taping and critique
